First, I want to thank all of you for joining the new PTSA at Mount Si. We are really looking forward to working with you, your students, and the staff and administration to create an even better learning experience each year.
Second, I would like to thank Teresa Appleseth, Becky Miller, Keri Wheeler, Chrissy Jensen, Liz and Tracey Piekarczyk, Cherie Botten, and Cindy Wilson for helping spruce up the entrance to the school with new plants and newly re-painted Wildcat paws as well as helping out in the office to prepare for the new school year. The entrance looks terrific and I know extra hands are always appreciated in the office.
Third, I would like to invite you to our first PTSA meeting of this school year.
The meeting will be held on Monday, September 8th at 6:30 pm at the MSHS Library.
We will get to know one another a bit better as we discuss the future months for your PTSA; how can we help you and how we can help the school help our students. Due to resignations over the summer months, we will vote in new Co-Secretaries. On the slate of nominations for Co-Secretaries is Noelle Rollins and Joanna Rohde. We will also be taking nominations from the floor. Remember the PAG (Parent Advisory Group) meeting with Principal, Randy Taylor, will follow the PTSA meeting. Get your beginning-of-school questions answered directly from the source.
Fourth and finally, I would like to apologize for the shortness of this meeting notice. We had so many new membership applications that our Membership Chair, Laurie Edwards (Fall City), worked diligently to get all the information entered as quickly as possible. Thanks, Laurie! In the coming weeks and months, I would like to communicate with you more regularly and in a more timely manner. There is lots going on at the high school and we want to try our best to keep you informed. I encourage you to check the Mount Si website (www.mountsihighschool.com) frequently for updated information.
I hope to see you on Monday. Our snack theme for September is “Tailgate Time”! So join us for a welcoming, informative meeting and some yummy snacks!
The President's Report included the offer of help for the front office. We want to be of assistance in whatever area will help the school whether it is folding letters for the Summer mailing to parents or assisting with the preparation of the school newsletter (sign up to receive at www.mountsihighschool.com then click on "E-mail Newsletter") , helping spruce up the high school campus, or finding ways to communicate the many wonderful accomplishments of our high school students to the community at large. A Zoomerang survey possibility was discussed in regards to these issues and legislative issues that may affect our children's education. Board members will check with the appropriate District and school personnel to firm up arrangements.
